Private Piano Lessons
One-on-one instruction paced to the student, covering technique, reading, and repertoire.
Every MajorKey student learns one-on-one with an instructor. That single decision shapes everything else about how lessons work: the pace of a lesson is set by the student’s actual progress, not a classroom average, and technique, note reading, and repertoire are introduced when the student is genuinely ready for them.
This is the format underlying every MajorKey program — whether a student is a complete beginner or has years of prior instruction, private lessons are how MajorKey teaches piano.
Who This Program Is For
- Students of any age who want individualized attention rather than a group class
- Beginners who want a pace matched to how quickly they’re actually absorbing material
- Continuing students who want to keep building on prior training with a consistent instructor
Learning Goals
- Build technique that holds up as repertoire becomes more demanding
- Develop confident, independent music reading
- Progress through repertoire chosen for the individual student, not a fixed group syllabus
What Students Work On
- Hand position, posture, and technical fundamentals
- Sight reading and music theory as it applies to what the student is currently playing
- Repertoire selected to match current skill level while stretching toward the next one
- Practice strategies that make time at home more productive
The Lesson Experience
Each lesson begins with a quick check-in on the past week’s practice, moves into focused technical and repertoire work, and ends with a clear plan for what to practice before the next session. Because it’s one-on-one, an instructor can slow down on a stubborn passage or move ahead quickly when a concept clicks — there’s no need to keep pace with a group.
Benefits
- Instruction that adapts in real time to how a student is actually progressing
- Direct, immediate feedback on technique
- A lesson plan built around the individual rather than a fixed curriculum
FAQ
Questions About Private Piano Lessons
How is a private lesson different from a group class?
In a private lesson, the instructor’s full attention is on one student for the entire session, so the pace and focus can adjust in real time rather than following a fixed group schedule.
How long is a typical lesson?
Lesson length is discussed and confirmed when a student enrolls, since it can vary by age and program. Reach out through the booking link to confirm current options.
Can I switch programs later if my goals change?
Yes. Because every MajorKey program is delivered one-on-one, moving between programs — for example from Beginner Piano Lessons into Kids or Adult Piano Lessons — is a conversation with your instructor, not a re-enrollment process.
